The third edition of the Young Journalist Academy under the slogan "Patriotism 2.0" started on Friday, 12 October 2018. During the first day 15 participants from Warsaw secondary schools could get to know each other and express their expectations about the Academy. Young journalists were greeted by AMD organizers: representatives of EDSM, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the POLIS Association of Young Experienced POLIS trainers Marcin Grudzień, Maciej Sopyło, Zuzanna Piechowicz Zbigniew Bujak conducted the integration part of the workshop.
On Saturday, participants learned about basic genres in journalism and tried their hand at working on them. Reading snapshots and assessing them by the rest of the group turned out to be a very effective tool for work - the participants finished the day inspired for the next workshop day. Sunday was devoted to preparations for the implementation of participants ideas in practice.
The first weekend part of the workshop ended up with radio workshops. In the following weeks, the study visits will take place in places related to the topic of the workshop. In the first week, the participants will visit the editorial staff of TOK FM radio and look at the work of its journalists. Already on October 30, the second workshop will be waiting for them, where they will create an editorial team.
About the project:
In the autumn of 2018 EDSM organize in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Poland and the Association of the Young Journalists "POLIS" workshops for young people interested in journalism Young Journalists Academy. The program is addressed to high school students connected with school newspapers. The Academy aims to improve the young journalists' workshop and to familiarize them with the contemporary image of journalistic work. The workshop ends with a publication of articles created by the participants on "Patriotism 2.0"
